Ledelsespåtegning:The Executive Board and Board of Directors have considered and approved the annual report ofRICC A/S for the year 1 January - 31 December 2023. The annual report has been prepared in accordance with the Danish Financial Statements Act. In our opinion, the financial statements give a true and fair view of the Company's assets, liabilitiesand financial position at 31 December 2023, and of the results of the Company's operations forthe financial year 1 January - 31 December 2023. Further, in our opinion, the Management's review includes a fair review of developments in theCompany's operations and financial matters, result for the year and the Company's financialposition. We recommend that the annual report be approved at the annual general meeting.
Management's review
Beskrivelse af virksomhedens væsentligste aktiviteter:Principal activitiesRICC focused on the rapidly emerging field of RNA-targeted drugs, where it was exploiting its proprietaryLocked Nucleic Acid (LNA) platform to discover important novel medicines across multiple therapeutic areas. Drugs directed against RNA targets have the potential to transform human medicine, making drug discovery,development and manufacturing more efficient, faster and less error prone than ever before. At the sametime, this novel class of drugs offers the means to address disease targets that have previously beenundruggable with conventional drug therapies such as small molecules or antibodies. Roche Group decided to consolidate its RNA research activities in an integrated RNAHub in Basel by the endof 2023, ultimately leading to the restructuring of the RICC site. The laboratories were subsequently operational with transfer of technology, projects and knowledge untilAugust 2023. The termination process was completed in waves (March 31th 2023 and September 30th 2023). The building lease was terminated with December 2023, and the buliding was handed over the new tenant atthe beginning of 2024. In connection with the closure of positions in Denmark, a corresponding number ofpositions was created in Switzerland for which it was possible to apply.
